Darchei Binah students spend an intensive week exploring the glorious history of Torah in Poland, and its tragic end. We discover the roots of Halacha by visiting Batei Midrash and Kevarim of leading figures such as Rama, Bach, Tosefos Yomtov, Maharshal, Rav Chaim Brisker and Netziv.
We encounter the origins of Chassidus in Ger, Lizhensk, Kotzk, Tzanz and many other areas.
As they visit holocaust sites such as Auschwitz, Treblinka, The Warsaw and Krakow Ghettos, our students learn about Kiddush Hashem, Emuna and the Greatness of Am Yisrael.
Particular highlights of the trip are participating in the mass aliya to the Kever of The Rebbe Elimelech MiLizehnsk on his Yahrzeit, and visting the Kever of Sara Schenirer and the original Beis Yaakov Seminary building on her Yahrzeit.
During the year various programs and lectures help prepare the students for the trip. A weekly learning program, Limud Mudrach, intensively analyzes responsa and biographical material from the Holocaust. They receive an overview of different periods and movements and learn about key personalities like Sara Schenirer, Rav Meir Shapiro, and the Rebbes of Ger.
The students are accompanied by educational staff, security guards and medics.
